The 1st Frame Door Jump is a TAS level trick used in Super Mario Maker. It requires a player to press jump on the first frame after exiting a door.

How It Works

Mario cannot take damage until the second frame after exiting a door. This allows Mario to jump off a spike on the first frame after exiting a door.

Note: This method only works on levels created after version 1.47
As of version 1.47, it is impossible to jump on the 1st frame after exiting a door (other actions still work). By combining this with a jump that normally has a 2 frame window it will create a setup where it is only possible to jump on the second frame after exiting a door.

Door 2nd Frame Jump

Boot Ditch

Dismounting a Goomba's Shoe on the first frame after exiting a door, will cause Mario to take damage without losing the boot.

Door 1st Frame Jump (Boot Dismount)

Cape Twirl

Performing a cape twirl on the first frame after exiting a door, will allow Cape Mario to kill an enemy overlapping the door without taking damage.


Vine Climb

When exiting a door, Mario is able to immediately start climbing a vine.
