Tutorial

The Pipe Exit 2nd Frame Jump is a TAS level trick used in the New Super Mario Bros. U game style. This trick allows Mario to perform a jump in midair while exiting a Warp Pipe.

This trick only works on levels created before version 1.47.

How It Works

When Mario performs an air twirl on the first available input frame after exiting a Warp Pipe, he is considered to be standing on ground for exactly 1 frame, on the very next frame. Pressing jump on this frame (the 2nd frame after exiting the pipe) will result in Mario jumping as if he were standing on solid ground.

Variations

Pipe Re-Entry

By holding up while Mario is jumping it is possible to immediately re-enter an overhead Warp Pipe.
